Republic of San Marino Innovation Institute supports the new legislation on innovation "Provisions on High Technology Enterprises" with the will to promote a new entrepreneurial culture devoted to innovation in the Republic, supporting the employment in key sectors for economic development, fostering a more solid capacity to attract foreign talent and capital and strengthen the links between institutions and the business fabric.

The certification of High Technology Enterprises allows you to:
Use the "Certified by San Marino Innovation" logo.
Participate in any other initiative organized by San Marino Innovation.
To be involved in institutional initiatives related to their operational area and promoted by the Institute.
Participate in multisectoral technological aggregation initiatives, promoted by San Marino Innovation, with the aim of developing cooperation between business systems and technological competence centers.
To be involved in working groups dedicated to the preparation of regulatory proposals for the Institute.
Business categories
Our program introduces the new concept of "High-Technology Enterprise" which includes 3 different categories with a total duration of 12 years:
First Level Technological Startup (SUT I)
Startup of the innovation process, it’s the executive phase from which the idea is converted in an organized project. Duration: 3 years
Second Level Technological Startup (SUT II)
Initial expansion phase (early growth), the startup begins to grow in terms of positive turnover. Duration : 4 years.
High Technology Enterprises (SAT)
Consolidation phase (sustained growth), the enterprise achieves the full operation. Duration: 5 years.

Evaluation process
The outcome of the evaluation is communicated, by e-mail, to the address indicated by the applicant by San Marino Innovation SpA, within 30 days current from the date of submission of the application.
The Institute issues the Certification of the High Technology Enterprises within 15 days from the communication of the outcome. In the event of a negative outcome of the assessment, the interested party may re-apply.
The certification is valid for 12 months. Each year the renewal procedures must be activated again within 90 days from the expiry of the certificate.
Payments
The evaluation process is free.
If the application is successful, the applicant has to pay the fee related to the category of High Technology Enterprise (SUT I; SUT II; SAT) provided by the Regulation and the Directive. San Marino Innovation will forward an email with the payment method.
